The theories of higher the voltage less the amp draw applies to electrical power.example 60/watt light bulb draw =0.50 amps at 120/volt (wattage/voltage=amperage) at 240/volt=0.25, at 277/volt=0.21, 480/volt= 0.125 By increasing the voltage we can take the same device and lower the amp draw making more efficient use of electrical power loads.
